Jean Echevarria

Artist Statement
My images come from observing patterns, colors, and ordinary magic in the natural world. Using a personal form of meditation, I look deeply to feel what I must print. I am also influenced by music, travel, and literature, often creating pieces or titles at play with these sources. The process of reduction woodcut printmaking involves many steps that can alter my images as I work. It is yet another form of magic that determines the final piece.
