Artist Statement
As a child growing up in the heart of Bucks County, PA, I was drawn to the functionality of pre-industrial revolution tools used in the home. I am inspired by the warm feel and simplicity of the functional pottery of Colonial America. It is my goal to produce work that reflects the clean lines and functionality of this time. This collection of pottery is a cross-representation of my typical work as well as some creative pieces that venture outside of my usual product line. S.Marotta Pottery is �Unique Pottery to Enjoy Every Day.� It is my hope that you will enjoy the feel of these pieces and that they may find a useful place in your home.

Stephanie Marotta, owner of S.Marotta Pottery, began her journey in ceramics while growing up in the heart of Bucks County, PA. Pottery was an adjunct to her education in Computer Science, and Stephanie continued to pursue ceramics as a hobbyist during her careers in industry and education.
Fueled by her passion for the craft and relocation to art-friendly Vashon Island in the Fall of 2016, Stephanie has had the opportunity to delve into her craft in earnest. She is currently exploring pottery using stoneware and porcelain clay bodies. Her goal is to create �Unique Pottery to Enjoy Every Day� � Functional pottery that is affordable and comfortable to use every day.
