Harmony Kellogg

Artist Statement

Painting the landscape, for me, is a form of deep transformative meditation. Captivated by the fleeting moments in nature, I paint en plein air to capture the magic of the color and the light.

I truly believe in the healing power of art. As a cancer survivor/thriver, my painting process reflects personal healing through immersion in the natural world and painting that experience. The forest is my cathedral, and I paint her inherent mystery and enchantment.

Because I am inspired and greatly influenced by the paintings and the letters of Van Gogh, I often travel to France to paint in his footsteps. Sometimes, on location, it feels like Vincent is on my shoulder guiding me through a painting.
