Kay Lancaster
Artist Statement
Making fun and functional art by upcycling old, discarded objects that had an earlier life or purposeand creating something new from the materialis a motivating force for me in my work. Instead of throwing things away when they have outlived their purpose, I try to bring them to life again in a new way. My earrings and jewelry reflect a spirit of playfulness and renewed purpose and are meant to bring joy to those that wear them! Each piece is handcrafted by me at my home studio on Vashon Island, Washington.
