Artist Statement

I like to explore different ways to combine types of printmaking. Over time, I have collected many of my own monoprints and am using them to create collages. Some collages have a sea theme. Surrounded by beaches and the sea, Ive sketched and collected shells, and other beach ephemera which influence my prints. The monotype prints reflect my walks through the woods and beaches. With my graphic design background, I like to scan my monotype prints, and use different programs to create digital prints, printing on my archival ink printer.

Artist Bio

Since 2008 (with a few years hiatus), I have been a member of Vashons Quartermaster Press, a studio of printmaking artists. Before printmaking, I worked many years as a graphic designer. Since taking a class from a former Quartermaster Press member, I got the printmaking bug and have been enjoying exploring all the different ways to make prints. I draw inspiration from my garden, nature and the water surrounding beautiful Vashon Island.
