Michael Elenko

Artist Statement
My artwork communicates my impressions and feelings. I aim to reveal the power, forms, and tones of nature, and to convey the impacts of humanity's material artifacts. I print my own artwork. The colors and tones reflect what I envisioned during creation. It's important for me to present artwork in a way that complements the print. I design and build frames that help make a difference visually.

Artist Bio
Photography is Michael Elenko's second language. He grew up in his grandpa's camera store and lab in NY and has been photographing for 60 years. Michael's work has been featured in international fine art exhibitions across the US. In 2023 "In the Chicago Loop" was awarded best documentary image in the Midwest Center for Photography Annual Exhibition. Lisa Hostetler, former photography curator at the Smithsonian, favorably compared Michael's modern landscapes to those of the great Robert Adams.
