Artist Statement
My interest in natural history, outdoor-oriented sports and landscape architecture is reflected in my paintings. From botanical studies to home gardens and landscape vistas, my paintings evoke the magic of a space, through pattern and color.
Past artists and movements that inspire and inform my work are the Arts and Crafts Movement, The Group of Seven, Van Gogh and John Cole.

Bob is a Vashon-based artist and landscape architect. His current medium of choice is acrylic paint, but his initial interest in painting was sparked by watercolor travel journals. After many years of plein air watercolor painting, he found a more flexible medium in acrylic paint, which allowed more edge definition with brighter, more opaque colors coupled with glazing�s subtle luminescence.
