Laurie D Brown

Artist Statement

Although my work revolves around nature, it is truly about pattern and color. My work has been mostly linocuts in the last several years but also includes collagraphs, intaglio, silkscreen , solar plates and combinations of those processes. Through the pandemic I focused on what was around me in my isolation, of things from the past that I collected, and of nature. Because time was more available I spent a lot of time hand coloring my work and reworking and combining images from the past.
