Vashon Summer Nights, a new program brought to us by Vashon's Chamber of Commerce, will be a series of special summer events with the streets closed to traffic, and the arts spilling out into the street during First Fridays.
Swiftwater is planning a mix of surprise, interactive activities for each of these memorable evenings. June's special activity will involve an entertaining, all ages, potato print making station right outside our front door! We also have loads of new artwork displayed throughout the gallery to delight your mind! Be sure to check out June's new limited-time artwork featuring "Flowers" in the window and to explore our highlighted medium of the month, fiber arts. We will also host singer/songwriter harpist, Monica Schley, who will play familiar tunes that span the decades on June 2nd, 6-7:30 pm.
Our featured medium this month is the Fiber Arts! Swiftwater has 6 different fiber artists and they are all wildly unique. Each artist makes one of a kind items that can bring creative warmth to your home. Whether it's a handmade basket, eye-catching wall art, a gorgeous scarf, hand dyed napkins, or another interesting textile, you won't find these pieces just anywhere!
